ALKO office supply is located in downtown Berkeley, a block from the U.
C. Berkeley Campus,.
OUR HOURS OF BUSINESS
We are open for business Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday,
9:30am to 5:30pm and Closed Sunday.
OUR SERVICES
We are able to be price competitive and still maintain the finest traditional
service. Through our own unique delivery system we can offer low prices and still maintain a
policy of Unrestricted Free Delivery within our East Bay "Prime
Delivery Zone" (see the orange map below). That really means NO delivery charge...NO
minimum order...NO questions...NO restrictions at all, if you need it, you get
it....PERIOD.
We offer 30-day accounts to Bay Area businesses, to customers outside the Bay
Area we offer next day UPS shipment for a freight charge of $6.50. For
those customers outside of California we do not offer credit terms but are happy
to accept all credit and purchase cards.
HERE'S WHAT WE ARE REALLY GOOD AT
Over fifty years of experience has made us especially good at servicing the demanding
needs of our University of California customers. Here too, we provide superior service for
a very competitive price.
Our staff is knowledgeable, professional, mature and courteous, and we specialize in
special orders. For local customers, 30 day charge accounts are available as well as a full color catalog
containing over 30,000 items that are available overnight.
OUR SENIOR STAFF
Alko Office Supply was incorporated as an 'S' corporation in 1954 as the Cliff Radston Company, Inc. Our roots go back to 1908 when the company began as "Radston's" by founder Clifford B. Radston and later steered by his son-in-law Alphonse S. Koch. Today the company's president is Gary Shows who began his career in the office supply industry in 1969 at Austin, Texas. Gary has been with the company since 1972 and has been at its helm since 1976. Our vice-president is Loretta Bauer joined the company in 1974 and also serves as the our full-charge bookkeeper. Our Operations Manager Claudia Erne has been with us since 1986, she looks over our most important commercial accounts and serves as our head buyer.
